Prof. Francis Wafula is an experienced health policy and systems specialist with good knowledge of the health and pharma sectors and as an associate professor of health systems, brings over 15 years of experience in research, analyses, and evidence synthesis.

He holds a PhD in Health Systems and Policy from the Open University/University of London, an MSc in Public Health from LSHTM - University of London, UK, and a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Nairobi, Kenya.

He currently serves as an Associate Professor of Health Systems and Policy at Strathmore University, Nairobi, Kenya, having previously served as Academic Director (PHD-HCM 2020-2022); Health Systems Specialist with the IFC/World Bank Group program; Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Nairobi; Health Systems Researcher at KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Programme; and Pharmacist at the Ministry of Health, Kenya, among others.
