Dr. John Kihama is a self-motivated, multifaceted leader with over fifteen years of experience in health management at the policy level. He is experienced in developing health policies, guidelines, plans, and leading teams, with excellent skills in the development and review of policy documents. He possesses strong analytical, problem-solving, and creative skills, along with strong coordination, management, and leadership abilities.

He holds an MSc in Public Health from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Nairobi. He has also trained in Hospital Operations & Management at Yonsei University (Korea); Making Decentralisation Work at Harvard University (USA); Health Systems Strengthening at the Kenya School of Government; Strategic Leadership Development at the Kenya School of Government; and Monitoring & Evaluation at the AMREF International Training Centre, Nairobi.

He currently serves as Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Health Human Resource Advisory Council (KHHRAC), having previously served as Deputy CEO of KHHRAC; Deputy Head of the Department of Health Sector Coordination & Intergovernmental Relations; Deputy Head of the Department of Health Sector Gender Mainstreaming; Dental Officer In-charge at Thika Level 5 Hospital; and Dental Officer In-charge at Kerugoya District Hospital, among others.
