Hon. Lee Kinyanjui, EGH
Hon. Lee Kinyanjui, EGH is the Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry (MITI).
At the Ministry, he provides strategic leadership in advancing Kenya's investment, trade, industrialization, manufacturing, export promotion, and private sector development agenda.
He is committed to positioning Kenya as Africa's preferred investment destination through policies that enhance competitiveness, attract quality investments, create jobs, and drive sustainable economic growth.
Hon. Kinyanjui is the Co-Chairperson of the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) Council between Kenya and the European Union, providing strategic oversight on the implementation of the Kenya–EU EPA and strengthening trade and investment cooperation between the two partners.
Previously, he served as the Governor of Nakuru County (2017–2022), where he promoted a conducive business environment that attracted investments across manufacturing, hospitality, real estate, and other key sectors. His administration spearheaded the establishment of the Naivasha Special Economic Zone, strengthening Nakuru's position as a strategic investment hub.
He also championed agricultural development, expanded and improved the county's road network, enhanced access to quality healthcare, and oversaw the elevation of Nakuru Municipality to city status. In recognition of his efforts to promote investment and economic growth, he was named Africa's Most Business-Friendly Governor by African Leadership Magazine.
He also chaired the Council of Governors' Lands, Planning, Urban Development and Infrastructure Committee, as well as the Energy Committee, where he championed policy reforms in urban development, infrastructure, and sustainable energy.
Hon. Kinyanjui previously served as the Member of Parliament for Nakuru Town (2007–2012) and as the Assistant Minister for Roads, contributing to policy and legislative reforms that supported the development of Kenya's transport infrastructure.
He holds a Bachelor of Education degree from Kenyatta University.
